FIELD TRIP ARRÁBIDA

Arrábida is a beautiful natural park and marine reserve. The Arrábida Covent inside the park is perched on the hillside above the sea, and surrounded by a lush landscape. Legend has it that that it was built on the site where an image of Our Lady and the infant Jesus, originally thought to have been lost at sea during a storm, was found. A place of pilgrimage and devotion, today it is managed by a private foundation. Visitors still come to appreciate the silence and splendour of the site.
